Who We Are

When your son or daughter’s behavior is out of control, we know how trying and stressful it can be. We’re here to help. As a parent, we will involve you in each step in working together to understand and deal with treatment issues. This includes talking about the plan to help your child and working with you and your family in counseling sessions to support the positive changes he or she will be making at North Star. There are activities we expect you to be involved in, and we’ll set up regular meetings or phone calls to let you know about your child’s progress. Our team will also work with the professionals you trust in your community. When your child returns home, he or she will have the best possible help and support needed to continue the progress made at North Star.

North Star’s parent booklets include detailed information about each of our programs and the activities in which your son or daughter will participate. They include useful information you’ll want to know such as what clothing to bring and phone and visiting hours. They also include details about your child or teen’s treatment program, what you can expect and how you will be involved. If you would like a copy of the booklet for your child’s program, or if you have questions or need more information, call us 24 hours a day at (907) 258-7575 or (800) 478-7575, or send us an email at northstarinfo@uhsinc.com.
