When a young person needs more intensive care, North Star’s locations in Southcentral Alaska provide a full range of services at our hospital and residential treatment centers. Based on the seriousness of the situation, some children come to the hospital for intensive short-term treatment to begin the healing process then return home, while others need the stability of longer-term residential treatment to learn the skills needed for a emotional and social stability and security. Understanding the special needs of youth and their families is key to the supportive services we offer. We take pride in our ability to help guardians and parents identify family and community strengths as tools for successful integration back into the youth’s home and community. We work with the people you trust in your community to continue this supportive care after your child returns home. We provide services for youth and their families from all over Alaska and throughout the United States. We recognize there is no one more important to a community’s future than the life of a child. When children, families, parents and professionals refer to our services, it is because they trust that we know kids and what they need. At North Star, we’re dedicated to young people and families. We value diversity and strive to meet the individual and multi-cultural needs of each young person we serve.
